Ok ladies, maybe you have survived the divorce, made it through the first of the sleepless nights or raised your babies up to be on their own; but have you done YOU? As moms we often let our dreams go by the wayside in order to make the dreams of our families become a reality but the truth is, by feeding our success we become better parents and stronger individuals. Do you want to be able to provide for yourself and your family with less struggle? You might have to invest more now; but it will pay off later.
Two days ago I was perfectly content in my sales job, getting up every day answering to a sales manager and calling on accounts. I would live and die by my sales numbers each week and constantly spend hours sifting through sales data trying to find a way to increase sales and boost my compensation, it had become monotonous and stale.
Here’s where it all changed. A co-worker called me for advice and before he hung up he asked me why I wasn’t going after the newly opened regional sales manager position, ya know, the one that covered three states and oversaw 12 sales representatives (what?!). It took me about 30 seconds to process what he was asking me and then I realized that he believed in me, why shouldn’t I believe in me, and I LEAPED. I hung up the phone and I contacted the hire-ups and I secured myself an interview and made myself a contender.
So I challenge each and every one of you to make yourself a contender TODAY. Maybe it’s not a promotion that you ask for (oh but baby maybe you should), maybe you start to look for opportunities to further your education or maybe you take a chance on something that terrifies you..JUST LEAP.
